Very Good
Location was good. Nothing particularly interesting about the surroundings, but right next door to an excellent grocery store and some good restaurants.
Someone on staff who spook better English would’ve been nice, but that seems to be rare in this part of Mexico.

What was the highlight of Courtyard Marriott Puebla Las Animas
Loved the bed and hotel and staff, but there was an odor in my rooom
It is always a challenge to find a hotel in Mexico with comfortable beds. The problem is that most hotels for harder mattresses because they last longer. And this is a problem that plagues midprice hotels, and also luxury hotels. I chose this hotel on the recommendation of a good friend who shares my same need for a comfortable bed. And the beds here are comfortable so much so that I extended my stay, while I researched other hotels closer to the historic center. I actually walked all the way down Avenida Juarez to Heroes de 5 de Mayo, stopping along the way to check out what, at the end of the day was probably seven hotels for comfortable beds. But there is a problem with this hotel. In my room is a strong odor of sulfur. And I have gut feeling that they know of the problem but don’t know how to resolve it. I had contemplated asking to change rooms, but I also smell it in the elevator, so it may be a sewage problem or something else. It hasn’t caused me to depart from the hotel, but where I hear not solo but with my wife or with friends, it would absolutely be a dealbreaker, and this would not be a hotel that we could stay at. so my concern is that this may not be a short term problem. Although a gave a high star rating to the hotel, one must factor in the odor of sulfur in the rooms.. Additionally, figuring out the two controls for the heating and air-conditioning unit were a bit of a challenge and because of the noise of the venting I actually turned off the unit since the weather in January is not that bad. Another issue I dealt with, just to give you a heads up, is that the switch by the door that you turn on when you enter controls several of the electrical outlets so, for example, if you were leaving items to charge, and you turn that switch off as you left, that would turn off the charging mechanism in the outlets, so be sure to leave that switch turned on if you are charging things and you are leaving your room.
